It is undoubtedly because the ocean
escapes to us that it us fascine so much. No one does not
include/understand it, no one does not dominate it. It
awakes of each one of us powerful feelings of freedom,
astonishment, appeasing…
Consciously or not, we have a
presentiment of that it is completely essential for us.
Although this “in addition to-world” still keeps the
essence of its secrecies, it carries in him our past and
conditions our future. The scientists confirm it to us, the
essence of diversity of living Planet is in its seas, but
it is still largely unknown for us. However, this magic
world is seriously threatened today by the tribute which
make him carry the human activities: climatic reheating,
erosion of the littoral, exhaustion of the resources,
pollution, etc
Which will become the ocean, common
inheritance of humanity, in ten or twenty years if us all,
users of the sea, aquaculteurs, fishermen, plungers,
ship-owners, sportsmen, townsmen… do not learn how to share
and respect this space of life? We, citizens, actors local,
scientific, contractors, elected… are all of the sailors of
origin, embarked on the planet sea since millenia, and for
still a long navigation. Can, once again, the amazement,
which is a force of beginning, to cause the respect and,
especially, the conscience that we all can act to go not
towards a company of deprivation but towards a company of
moderation. France, second country maritime of the world
with its 11 million km2, present in all the oceans, has an
exceptional marine inheritance. However, hardly 0,0001% of
this territory are protected. We must better do! It is to
take part in this major stake that the Foundation decided
to amplify its engagement in favour of the marine
environment with its new Alive Mer countryside.
